My Daughter is Missing follows mother Elizabeth as she searches for her daughter who goes missing after a school dance. If you’ve read any of the other books by JD Kirk, you know that there will be intense drama that will feel so real at times that it creeps you out, at least it does me. This one was no different. Recommend not reading before bed as you may not get to sleep because the story has its hooks in you.

Panic anxiety of a mother searching for her child, the fear of not finding her in time is griping not only through the words but also through the chilling narration. This book takes you on a wild ride as Elizabeth races around looking for Hollie. There are twists, turns, curveballs, you name it. You might guess a few and have others sneak up on you. They won’t take away from the enjoyment.

Plot Summary

My little girl has vanished. And I can’t tell anyone…

My nine-year-old daughter Hollie should be leaving school smiling and laughing with all the other children but she’s not here. I run frantically, checking everywhere, my voice growing louder, but I can’t see her bright blue eyes and heart-shaped face anywhere. Pure panic washes over me. This is my worst nightmare.
