Another layer peeled back as Bree and her team race to solve murders in her town. As Bree is hunting for the killer, she encounters information about her mom that she never knew. There are some complex themes woven into these stories that go beyond the whodunit and create fuller, more complex, and relatable characters.  In the midst of the investigation, there is some happiness with the pending arrival of Matt’s nephew. As things go, focusing on one thing or area is not possible, just like life, and these stories handle this beautifully. 

It was nice to see progress with Bree in her dog fear, and did I mention the crossover? Any favorite series is Morgan Dane. We were treated to a nice crossover here, and I hope to see more of it. We were teased with it a bit in a past story, but not to the same extent. 

Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part, or true foreshadowing, but I see some major changes and life decisions hitting Bree. As with all things so far, both personal and professional, I expect she will tackle them well.

One of the things I like most about this and other series is how there are strong independent female characters that are also in committed relationships where there is mutual respect and support. I’ll stop here for fear of giving away too much.

Plot Summary
