The Agent

Isabella Rose - Book 3

  • Rating: full starfull starfull starfull starstar outline (4/5)

Pope and Isabella may be battered, may be bruised, but they are on a mission and cannot be stopped.

If you have not read the previous books you might be a little lost in the beginning, but keep reading and you will get caught up. It surprised me how often the bad guys kept saying, "she's only a girl". I'd shake my head and wait for them to realize they were wrong - deadly wrong. Isabella's mom had trained her well. It is obvious from the way Pope continuously tries to protect Isabella, only to have her fight along side him that he cares for her, probably like one of his daughters. The two of them end up all over the world. This time it is pretty personal as Pope's "employer" has abducted his wife and daughters. Isabella, of course, is going to help him get them back. To add to the challenge, a secret organization, wants to use Pope to for their own agenda and in exchange, get Pope what he needs to save his family.

I was starting to worry about Pope who got hurt a number of times. Parts of the story reminded me of Steve Austin/Jamie Sommers or maybe even Echo (get it?), except in this story they were from inception. There are several themes (morals, choice, ideologies, family, etc) that are interwoven. There is a lot of action in the story, lots of science (explained nicely) and many O-M-G moments. There was one scene that I was not overly thrilled about and took a break from the story due to it. Once I got through it, I was back onboard for the thrill ride.

The ending cleared up a LOT of questions that I've had throughout the three books, now I am anxious to read book 4.

Happy Reading!

Plot Summary

Isabella Rose is on the run, hunted by the very people she had been hired to work for. Trained killer Isabella and former handler Michael Pope are forced into hiding in India and, when a mysterious informer passes them clues on the whereabouts of Pope’s family, the prey see an opportunity to become the predators.

Chased from the poverty of Mumbai’s slums into the sights of a sniper’s rifle amongst the lavish wealth of Shanghai, Isabella and Pope hunt fleeting shadows in a race against time. And they can’t afford to lose.

The Agent is the third part in a continuing story involving Isabella Rose that also includes The Angeland The Asset.
