Mercy Kilpatrick - Book 9, Bree Taggert - Book 9
- Rating: (4/5)
Kidnapping, BDSM, Snipper, Forest Fire, Community Uproar, and Political Shenanigans won’t keep Bree and Mercy from doing what needs to be done.
As a fan of both the Mercy Kilpatrick and the Bree Taggert series, I was excited to read a story that brought them together.
If you are not aware, Bree and Mercy are badasses. Individually, they can hold their own and together, the bad guys better watch out. There are heart-stopping moment, oh sh*t moments, no-they-didn’t moments and more that make this a book you won’t want to put down.
Mercy is in Oregon investigating a high profile disappearance. Bree is in New York State dealing with the usual noisy from the town council along with the appearance of dead women in suitcases.
The first chapter is so creepy, I had to put the book down and do something fun to continue. That is just how well written this book is. With Matt (Bree’s investigator and live-in boyfriend) away doing training having Mercy help in Bree’s investigation is a no-brainer. The catch though is that in the beginning Mercy can’t share who she is looking for that landed her in Bree’s patch. Luckily, Dana had taken the kids on holiday so no worries about them being in danger and Matt not being around to help Bree keep them safe.
I’m reluctant to call the red herring, a red herring because it was so obvious that I felt I was being bated (I was ok with that though). There were some clues that were not fully evaluated until after that fact because of all that was going on.
In the end, Bree and Mercy got to the bottom of things. I’m afraid if I go on I will give too much away. Another fantastic additional to both the Bree Taggert and Mercy Kilpatrick series.
Happy Reading!
