Blood and Treachery

A Scottish Crime Thriller DCI Logan - Book 4
- Rating: (4/5)
Buried body, drugs, and ... Logan
I know the DCI Jack Logan is not exactly politically correct and I really like him. He knows his ways are no longer acceptable and he with the help of his team tries (sometimes) to adjust. He may be gruff but he cares about his team and they him.
The team is still healing from their last couple of cases and take a huge blow in this one. Sad about the outcome but kinda saw it coming to make room.
The murder that started had a few twists that come to a head and despite being resolved there is still a case that is not fully resolved.
I will admit I am not sure if I would have enjoyed quite as much if I had not been listening to narration by Angus King. I feel like I can listen to anything he reads (I think I’ve said this before, but it is so true).
Logan has personal challenges that take a hit as he works the current case and haunts an older one. We see the strength of the friendship between himself and DI Forde, hinted at in earlier books.
We also see DC Tyler Neish start to grow/mature into his position.
I like this team and Logan. Looking forward to the next case.
Happy Reading!
Plot Summary
How far would you go to bury the truth?
While searching for a missing hill walker, Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team uncovers a body - just not the one they were looking for.
Still dealing with the fallout from their last case, DCI Jack Logan and his team venture south from Inverness to investigate a brutal, gangland-style execution in the wilds of the Highland countryside.
As the victim's dark secrets are gradually revealed, Jack uncovers the rot lurking beneath the stunning scenery, making himself the target of a criminal more dangerous than any he has faced before.
If he isn't careful, it won't just be a murder he's dealing with in Glencoe.
It'll be a massacre.
