Dogwood Donuts owner, Maggie Sharpe, is busy preparing for the introduction of a new lunch feature at her shop. To clear her mind after long hours at work, she takes walks around the neighborhood and her route takes her by the old house on the hill that used to belong to her aunt.
It seems someone is doing renovations and Maggie becomes curious about the new owner. When curiosity makes her take a closer look, the disgruntled owner makes it abundantly clear that she’s not welcome.
A suspicious incident happens at the house, a body is discovered, and all fingers seem to be pointing at Maggie. Long lost friends and relatives come out of the woodwork when Maggie tries to get to the bottom of the tragedy and she quickly finds out that people are not at all who they seem to be in this small town.
